But Wait, There's More

The Spirit of God is a gift to us; He is also the imparter of gifts. To the Spirit-filled Christian, there comes an enabling that allows us to do things that are impossible in the natural. The Holy Spirit’s contributions are seen throughout Scripture, glorifying God through miracles to bring the lost to salvation and believers into a more profound transformation.

Paul had to clear this up for the early church in Corinth, so as always, we rely on the Word of God to decide what we believe --

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11, NIV)

To receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, it is imperative that you find yourself together with other believers that believe like you and know the promise is for today. In reading this book and studying the associated Scriptures, you are testing or proving your thinking through the only Source with the final word – God’s Holy Word. Remember, holiness is superlative, without rival. There is nothing above it.

Do not let yourself be confused or misguided – take responsibility for your beliefs and conclusions. I Thessalonians 5:21 tells us to "prove all things," which includes our old philosophies and belief systems handed down through our families. The Apostle Paul says to "hold fast" to the ones that pass the test of the only standard that matters – the Bible. If you desire to live the Word of God as your paradigm, connect yourself to like-minded, spirit-filled individuals.

Go on and
test what I am saying.

Hosea 4:6 warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

So, go on and test what I am saying. Look it up in the Bible for yourself, read these verses in context, and God will speak to you of who He is and what He wants to do with His Spirit through your life.
