LATTER ≥ FORMER

“‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.” –Haggai 2:9, NKJV

Your Heavenly Father is always wanting to better your life. God did not put you here so you can just coast along and live a mediocre existence. Paul is writing this message to the church to remind us we cannot remain where we started.

"…we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation. God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." (Hebrews 6:9-12, NIV)

As children of God, we are people of promise; we move through life with great expectancy. We anticipate that through His divine power, He has "given us a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires" (1 Peter 1:1-4, NIV).

You are standing on solid ground; you are standing upon the oath of God and the promises of God, and nothing can move your foundation. God builds on that foundation throughout your life with Him. Today, your Father shares with you things that perhaps you didn't see yesterday. I can guarantee you that you're going to be a better person after this test if you put your faith in the Father and obey His Word. God's going to use the struggles for His glory.

  • Do you feel that you have fallen by the wayside because of this pandemic?

  • Have you left your First Love?

  • Do you sometimes feel like giving up?

Jesus is extending his hand to lift you. You can do more than barely holding on. I want you to know you can stand.

If you are a child of God, you can build with confidence knowing God placed you here to glorify His name. We must not get comfortable on a lower level of faith and faithfulness to His Word.

God means for you to live a greater-than life.

Get ready to encounter more opportunities to grow, express the glory of God through your life, and be a blessing to others. You know, you cannot bless someone else with something you do not have. That is why God means for you to live a greater-than life.

Prepare and pursue a higher level of faith and faithfulness,

and the LATTER days will be GREATER THAN the FORMER.
